Vertical Files are all steel construction, and, for security,are equipped with a lock as standard equipment. The carrier prongs are adjustable.

MasterFile 2-High density filing system allows for quick and easy document retrieval and storage. The insulated double steel wall construction with moisture and dust seal provides excellent document protection. Individual documents are attached to self-adhesive, pre-punched carrier strips (order separately) which are hung from a set of pins and posts inside the MasterFile 2. Pins and posts are located on 6 1/2" centers for maximum support and allow multiple size filing. Carrier strips allow documents to hang straight, eliminating fingerprint smudges and dog-eared corners. Stored at a comfortable height for easy access, document retrieval is a simple process that requires no stooping or bending. Unit will hold up to 1600 3 mil individual documents. For generations, large architectural and engineering documents have been stored in cumbersome flat file drawers containing up to 100 drawings per drawer. Anyone who has ever retrieved and returned the bottom drawing to a hundred drawing flat file is aware of the time required to retrieve the drawing as well as the difficulty and time required to return it to its proper filing sequence. There is also the danger of damaging the document as it is removed and returned to the flat file. Many of the European countries as well as Canada have developed an efficient, safe and economical way to store large documents. The vertical plan file system offers many advantages over the archaic flat file.

Vertical filing systems such as the DiAZiT Stylefile hold up to 1,540 drawings per file and occupy only 3.75 square feet of floor space. A 5-drawer file cabinet occupies 6 or more square feet of floor space and 2 units must be stacked on top of each other to hold 1,000 documents (100 per drawer). It is also inconvenient to retrieve drawings from the top drawer and the bottom drawer of flat files, and an additional 2 to 3 feet are required in floor space to extend the drawers for filing or retrieval of documents. With the DiAZiT vertical file system, documents are placed on polyester hanging strips that hold them in a vertical position free of wrinkling and dog-earring comers. Any document may be retrieved in 15 seconds easily and safely for both the user and the document.

The special design of the Stylefile allows movement or addition of extra prongs by the user, giving complete compatibility with most existing systems. Different size drawings can be intermingled in order to meet the user's index system.
